Alex Forster
I started playing tennis when I was 3 years old with a plastic racket and a sponge ball in the garden given to me by my parents. I’ve never looked back and loved it ever since.
I joined the local tennis club in Hampshire and reached a good standard winning numerous club tournaments in singles and doubles. It was at this club that I first started coaching when I was 13 years old. My coach asked me to help with both tennis camps and lessons of kids my own age, and even some adult groups - it was a new side to tennis that I really enjoyed, and from there I wanted to become a tennis coach.

I studied Sport Coaching and Development at Gloucester University, where I also played in the 1st team for 3 years.

Following University I have had a great variety of coaching roles and opportunities including:
-
Two summers working as the sole tennis coach and organiser in Greece for Neilson Holidays,
-
Two and half years at Highfield School in Liphook,
-
Since 2015, David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Southampton (previously Virgin Active).
During this time I have also coached for and alongside Lee Childs, an ex-professional tennis player, at St.Teresas Tennis Academy.

In the past year I have started coaching Andrew Penney who is a fantastic wheelchair player and has recently been accepted into the Great Britain (GB) National Junior Tennis Programme.

Most importantly, I love what I do and I love having fun whilst doing it!
